How do I place an online order?
To place an order, simply click on the purchase item and select the quantity. Note that for many items the “Minimum Order Quantity” is one case. “Bottles Per Case” indicates how many bottles you will receive per case. Click the ADD TO CART button. To change the quantity of an item, simply enter or choose the desired quantity in the corresponding quantity field and click the UPDATE BASKET button. To delete an item, simply set its quantity to zero and click the UPDATE BASKET button. When you are satisfied with the contents of your order, click the GO TO CHECKOUT button.
Do you accept Discover or Amex credit cards?
Yes we accept all four of the major credit cards to include: Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.
What are the key legal guidelines minors for buying wine or beer over the web from UpCounty.com?
UpCounty complies with all Montgomery County, state and federal laws regarding the sale of alcohol to minors.
1) No purchase may be made by anyone under 21 years of age.
2) All internet or phone order purchases require: an adult (21 years of age or older) signature; and, proof of age will be verified by the cashier at the time of store pick-up.
3) No purchases or store pick-ups will be made to a visibly intoxicated person.
Does UpCounty deliver or ship wine?
No shipping or delivery at this time. All orders made on the Website can be picked up at the store location: UpCounty Fine Wine & Beer, 23229 Stringtown Road, Clarksburg, Maryland 20871. T#301.916.7777.
Can UpCounty ship wine as a gift to someone in another State or County?
Maryland law prohibits its residents and businesses to ship wine into or out of the state. Further, Montgomery County forbids any delivery of wine into or outside of the county. Within this environment, UpCounty.com was created to provide its customers with convenient access to the only 100% complete selection of fine wines and beers available for purchase within Montgomery County, Maryland.
What is your product return policy?
Customers are advised to pick-up wines time of pickup. No returns once items leave the stores.
Are UpCounty’s selection of wines and beers limited by being part of the Montgomery County wholesale distribution system?
No. UpCounty Fine Wine & Beer was established to provide the only 100% complete selection of wine and beer available in Montgomery County. Currently we have more than 15,000 wine items available for immediate ordering via the web, over-the-phone or in the store. Our selection represents the largest collection wines and beers available for immediate purchase in Montgomery County, Md.
Is there a minimum quantity of bottles required for every order?
No specific quantity of bottles is required for each order. However many of the wines offered by UpCounty.com are special order wines that we are required to order by the case. Typical case sizes are 6 or 12 bottles. The availability of wine a item for “case-only purchase” or “buy by the bottle or case” is indicated.
Can my 18 year old son pick-up wine once it has been purchased over the web?
1) No, whenever an order is placed, no purchase or store pick-up of any kind may be made by anyone under 21 years of age.
2) Prior to completing every purchase on the web, the customer must under penalty of perjury, confirm that they are at least 21 years old.
3) At the time of wine pick-up, the customer is required to present a valid proof of age
What documents constitute valid proof of age?
Signed, valid State Drivers License with picture, Military I.D., State issued MVA Identification Card, Valid Passport, Immigration card.
What are unacceptable identifications for proof of age?
Expired drivers permit, Social Security card, Birth Certificate, Credit Card, High School or College I.D. Any I.D. not issued by Federal, State or local authorities, any unsigned, expired or altered I.D.

What credit cards does UpCounty take?

Can I use UpCounty Fine Wine & Beer Gift Cards for Website purchases?
Yes. Gift cards can be redeemed at Website checkout for purchases made. No cash back on gift cards.

What can cause wine and beer prices and availability to vary?
UpCounty purchases 100% of its wine and beer within the Montgomery County wholesale alcohol distribution system. As a result, we are subject to the variability of this distribution which may affect the retail price, availability and/or timing of an order.
How long does it take to receive special orders via the web?
Depending on the wine or beer items, two to four weeks is typical. However, UpCounty hold stock- inventory of many special orders for immediate pick-up.
How will customers know that it is safe to purchase from UpCounty.com?
All our transactions go through secure servers with encryption. Encryption makes it extremely difficult for anyone to intercept information about you, your order, or your credit card information. Further, UpCounty has taken many precautions to insure that shopping with us is safe and secure. Can UpCounty store customers use their gift cards for web purchases?
Yes. Customers simply enter the gift card serial numbers on the rear when prompted for payment options during check-out.
Can I place on reservation or be billed later for wine web purhases?
No. Immediate payment via credit card or gift card is required for all purchases made over the web or telephone. In-store purchases may also be made cash.
How does UpCounty guarantee the security of web purchases?
Except as expressly provided in this paragraph. UpCounty Fine Wine & Beer makes not guarantee or warranty regarding the operation or performance of any security measure or device installed on its website or used in processing online transactions.
How does UpCounty use credit card information?
UpCounty does not disclose credit card account information provided by its customers. When customers choose to pay using their credit cards, UpCounty submits the information needed to obtain payment to a clearinghouse service provider.
How does UpCounty calculate sales tax on orders?
Maryland state sales tax of 6% is required for all orders. UpCounty is prohibited by law to ship out of Maryland state.
How long does it take to get my wine or beer orders?
The time to receive merchandise varies. Because UpCounty’s wine and beer are produced by many different wineries and breweries and in many different parts of the country and world the time to expect pick-up of purchased merchandise varies as follows. Most of the single bottle order items are available within 2-3 days. Many case order items take a week or two to get, while others take longer.
